Spaceballs (1987) Perri-Air Label

Fresh air in a can - and the most iconic prop gag in sci-fi comedy history.

This is an original production-made Perri-Air label from Mel Brooks' Spaceballs (MGM, 1987) - the beloved parody that skewered Star Wars, Star Trek, and every space opera in between. In a film where Planet Spaceball has depleted its air supply and President Skroob cracks open a can of Perri-Air to breathe, this label is one of the most recognizable prop gags ever committed to celluloid. Custom printed for the production by The Earl Hays Press.

This is not a reproduction. This is a genuine production-made prop, pulled directly from the Earl Hays Press archive.

Did you know? Spaceballs was written and directed by Mel Brooks and released in 1987, starring Brooks, Bill Pullman, John Candy, and Rick Moranis. Though it had a modest theatrical run, it became a cult classic through home video and cable, and is now widely regarded as one of the greatest comedy parodies ever made. A long-awaited sequel, Spaceballs: The New One, is currently in production and scheduled for release in 2027, making original props from the first film more sought-after than ever. The Earl Hays Press created the Perri-Air label and other printed props for the production, adding the kind of absurdist detail that made Brooks' world feel hilariously complete.
