Did you know? Matlock ran for nine seasons - first on NBC from 1986 to 1992, then on ABC from 1992 to 1995 - making it one of the few primetime dramas to successfully transition between the two networks mid-run. The show consistently ranked among the top-rated dramas of its era and remains one of the most-watched series in syndication history. The Earl Hays Press produced period-accurate printed props for the production throughout its run, including this 1950s-style Mt. Harlan Gazette - one of the more unusual and specific props in the archive.
The photo of Eisenhower is a stock EHP image that has been reused for many years, most famously on the front page of the November 5, 1955 Hill Valley Telegraph from Back to the Future. The photo, actually taken during Ike's 1961 farewell address, is so rare that even the Eisenhower Presidential Library does not have a copy of it.
