Baby's Day Out (1994) Prop Storybook

Bink's favorite story, made real for the production.

This is an original production-made "Baby's Day Out" storybook prop from Baby's Day Out (20th Century Fox, 1994), the family comedy about a kidnapped infant who leads his bumbling captors on an inadvertent tour of the city, inspired by the very picture book he loves. Made by The Earl Hays Press for the production, this is a fully realized prop book, complete with title page and fully illustrated story pages (repeated once through), exactly as it appeared on screen.

This is not a reproduction. This is a genuine production-made prop, pulled directly from the Earl Hays Press archive.

Did you know? Baby's Day Out was written and produced by John Hughes, the writer-director behind some of the most beloved comedies of the 1980s and 90s. The film's central conceit - a baby navigating the city guided by the mental map of his favorite storybook, required The Earl Hays Press to produce a fully illustrated, production-ready version of the fictional "Baby's Day Out" picture book, making it one of the more elaborate printed props in the archive. This book features incredibly detailed artwork from propmaker Ross MacDonald. The film has developed a devoted cult following in the decades since its release, particularly in international markets where it became a major hit.
